I am an Integrative Counsellor who offers in-person and online counselling sessions. I work creatively, drawing from tools from different counselling modalities and I aim to tailor an individual approach for you. I work in collaboration with you and will be guided by your needs and adapt the therapy accordingly to bring about change.
I am a qualified BACP Registered Counsellor and I am also a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors. I have completed a BA (Hons) in Counselling at Waverley Abbey College. I draw from my training in theories including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Attachment.
I am person centred at the core which means for me that an important part of our work is our therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a calm, compassionate and safe space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences. I believe that everyone has the capacity for personal growth and change, given the right conditions.
I have worked with bereavement, anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, suicidal ideation, trauma, relationship issues, long term health issues, domestic violence and self-harm. I have also worked with people with autism and ADHD.
I have experience counselling both adults, adolescents and children in a number of settings. I currently work as a Counsellor with children, young people and adults within my private practice in Selston, Nottinghamshire and also as a self employed School Counsellor in a secondary school. I gained experience working with primary school children through Place2Be offering talking and play therapy. I also gained experience working with bereaved adults and children at Treetops Hospice and women at a domestic abuse charity in Derby. I have also worked as a Mental Health Practitioner within GP practices for a local mental health charity offering short term CBT based therapy.
